More deer stories

June 24, 2012

So, what do the male deer Jung Suwon-imals do while the ladies take care of their babies?

Want to see?

Here is Danny, the fearless one, right on the side of the road….he doesn’t seem concerned about anything.  That is because he is the equivalent of a Jung Suwon black belt, and he knows he is fast and can outrun any predators.  He has been training hard and it pays off.  But he is not overconfident – he always keeps an eye on his surroundings and he is ready to sprint off when needed.

Danny has been training his friend Dustin, to be as strong and fast a Jung Suwon-imal as he is.  Together, they follow what Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim is teaching:

“When you have a goal that is a priority, and when you commit your total loyalty to this cause, you will undoubtedly make decisions about competing priorities in your life.  If you want to prepare for a marathon, attending every party in town could not be an equal priority to working out every day.  One or the other must be chose, the other sacrificed.”

And that is just what these deer are personifying.  Here are Danny and Dustin, in the field, getting ready to train:

See how they are lined up so nicely in their Jung Suwon outdoor DoJang?   Will they do forms, or sparring, or work on their sprinting?

And after their work out, they relax and hang out, always watching out for each other, as you can see here:

Deer, oh dear!

Remember reading about Daisy, the pregnant deer?  Well – I am happy to report that this Jung Suwon-imal has had her baby!  Or should I say, babies!  Daisy was nice enough to grant me a close look at them.  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim says that animals can sense our energy a lot better than we can – and that when our energy is right, and they feel comfortable, they might let you come closer than you would ever imagine!  To illustrate this concept a little more, here is what Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim has to say about trust:

“If you have trouble trusting, you will tend to feel fearful and powerless when you have to deal with obstacles that seem beyond the power of your physical self to cure.  But think of this.  Could the Life Force that created the universe and created you be so unreliable as to leave you stranded in any situation?  Isn’t your life force beating your heart right now?  Your Silent Master, the Universal Life Force, is the closest thing to you.  It is your breath, your heartbeat, and your warmth.  All over the world, new life of all kinds is being born, showing us over again how life comes into being by itself.

Since the Life Force exists eternally, everywhere, with or without you, trust is something only you can do.  You can choose to acknowledge the Life Force as your own, and act as one with it.  Or you choose to ignore it, in which case you can’t use it, and you will feel powerless.”

Of course, our two Jung Suwon-imal fawns know the true meaning of trust, and are exercising it.

So, here you can see a few pictures of Desiree and Deanna.

Even though they are very new in this world – perhaps a couple of weeks old by now – they are already true Jung Suwon warriors.  Always aware, always alert, and ready for whatever comes their way!

Without further ado, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere they are!

Welcome a new Jung Suwon-imal to the neigh-bor hood!

June 6, 2012

Let’s give a big, warm welcome to our brand new Jung Suwon-imal, Horatio the horse!

Isn’t he beautiful?

He moved into the neigh-borhood just a couple of weeks ago and is still a little shy.  But like a true Jung Suwon warrior, he is eager to make friends and  work out with you!

I stopped to say hello to him.

It reminded me so much of Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s story, when she had just come to the USA, and started to teach at a local high school, and after a semester, after being selected as the teacher of the year, there was a party given in her honor.  She dressed in her traditional Korean dress, and excitedly came to the party. But  to her great disappointment, after people stopped by to say hello, nobody would talk to her.  She was left all alone, while the other guests formed cliques and talked among themselves.  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim was determined that in her environment, such things would never happen, and she makes a point at all her events and everywhere she goes that there are no “left alone” people.

Well, Horatio isn’t going to be left out!  Unlike Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s story, we’ll be stopping by often and making sure he doesn’t feel left all alone.  I heard some Jung Suwon warriors already introduced themselves and helped him feel right at home.

Welcome to the Jung Suwon neighborhood, Horatio!

Goofing off K-9s

June 3, 2012

Yes, even Jung Suwon warriors have their funny moments, and Jung Suwon-imals Chung Song and Sarang are no different.  They love to train hard, and then to goof off!

After doing the equivalent of Jung Suwon forms (that would be retrieving toys) they enjoy water, especially Sarang!

Here you can see her have fun with water:

Meanwhile, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s other dog, Chung Song, plays it cool.  He loves to relax in the shade,

but he can be quite hilarious too, playing hide and seek!  He does love to sneak up on people from unexpected locations.  (Excuse the bad picture….)

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim loves her dogs.  They are wonderful companions, loyal, true, and with a big sense of humor too!

Chung Song and Sarang are contemplating having their own blog.  What do you think?
