Quail are God’s creatures too

Quail 3 copy

Where Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim lives, lots of wildlife enjoy a great environment.

Here you see Quincy and Queeny, the neighborhood quail, on their Sunday stroll.  Did you know that quail are very sociable birds and like to stay together in groups?  Except during mating season, when they break off into pairs, and raise their young.

One of the things they like to do is take dust baths together – burying their underbellies into dry, dusty soil and move around….see how well-developed they are?  They have been on this planet for about a Million Years, so they know what works and what doesn’t!

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim‘s words come to mind, reminding me that every creature has its place, it’s purpose.

“Freedom does not mean being free from adversity or difficulty.  Freedom is the knowledge that you have the power to conquer adversity and difficulty.  If you could ask any animal living free in the animal kingdom they would tell you that they aren’t free from trouble.  Predators are everywhere, and life is a daily challenge.  But all animals were born with instincts to protect them, and were given special talents and abilities to help them stay alive and pursue their lives in freedom.”

Gentle Doves, right outside the kitchen window

August 4, 2012

Jung Suwon-imals come in all kinds of sizes and shapes – and locations!  Here they are, right outside Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim‘s kitchen window!

Davy and Dottie, the dove Jung Suwon-imals, love hanging out near the kitchen window.  They are very gentle, loving creatures, yet they are very strong, very aware Jung Suwon warriors!

Here is Dottie, sitting at the window sill, saying hello:

Here is another picture of our adorable  Dottie:

So what makes Dottie and Davy Jung Suwon-imals?

Not only are they great flyers, dodgers, and are very agile birds, practicing their in-flight forms every day, they also completely live Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim‘s teachings, especially this one:

“When you find real Love in your life, you have a special feeling of happiness that is not dependent on anyone or anything in order to be.  That’s because it comes from you, not to you from outside sources.  It’s a quiet joy, ,but also one that expresses great enthusiasm.  When you feel this Love, you are glad to be alive, and grateful to wake up every day and live your life.  This Love can’t be hurt or destroyed because it is pure energy. Because this Love is real and true, it is powerful.  It can overcome anything untrue simply by being there, just as the sunlight burns clouds away.”

Dottie and Davy wish you a great day, and encourage you, with a heart-felt,

New Jung Suwon-imal – Benny the bird

May 6, 2012

I have an interesting dilemma with this adorable Jung Suwon-imal.  He is cute!  He sings beautifully.  And he defends his perch (which is my car antenna.)

He has a great ki-up and he does a great job sparring, in the air!  The air is his Jung Suwon Do-jang!

Introduuuuuuuuuuucing Benny the lazuli bunting!  (drumroll please!)

See him in ready stance here?

Every time I see little Benny – and I do see him a lot, because he thinks I got my car just for him – I am reminded of Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s words in her book, “The First Element:”

Wake up to the little miracles around you right now and appreciate the power of the universal life force!  These miracle we take for granted every day are pictures of your own life force in motion.  A tiny unborn bird pecks away at his shell hundreds of times for no other reason than to be born!  For no other reason than to be who he is. He follows the life force as far as his purpose directs.

But you!  You are born with so much more capability than this little bird.  If you are not living your life with the same enthusiasm of a supernova, exploding to fill your space with energy to build and create and transform, you are still inside  a dark shell.  If you are sitting around doing nothing more than feeling sorry for yourself, then you are not even as true and honest as the little bird, who at least honors his life force by pecking his way out into the world.”

So here is Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s tiny warrior, true to himself, being who he was meant to be.

What’s the dilemma?  Well, see here is the same picture as above, except zoomed out:

And another one, even further away….

So far, so good, right?

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim teaches us that it’s always good to look at situations from different angles and all directions, so here is another close up of my car (yes, that beautiful color matching car is mine) and you will instantly know my dilemma:

How do you deal with a beautiful, cheerful, awesome Jung Suwon warrior of the animal kingdom, who is only doing what he was born to do?

Well, my solution – you guessed it!

Wash my car more often!  Thank you Benny for motivating me to keep my car clean!

Another new Jung Suwon-imal comes by

April 29, 2012

Spring time is the favorite time for a lot of Jung Suwon-imals!  They are busy with so many things – they never have a dull moment.  Even Salerna and her companions.

Isn’t she a beauty?  Oh, I know, a lot of people outright discriminate against snails, and if Salerna were to wander over to my garden blog, yes, she would be in danger of being permanently evicted.

But Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim gave me a new perspective on snails, and things in general.  During her lectures and Jung Suwon classes, Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim often talks about a simple pen.

“When I write a love letter, or a beautiful note, this pen I am holding, is a useful tool.  .  But when I use it to stab someone, it becomes a weapon.  Is the pen good or bad?  The pen itself is a tool, and it depends on what it is used for!”

Another example is one of Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s young students.  He used to be in gangs and on a downhill roll into crime, drugs, and other things.  Once he was out of that environment, and training at Jung Suwon for a year or so, and having moved away from his previous home, he has done remarkably well and now has a job at a well known computer company and has turned into an outstanding citizen.

The same, in a way, holds true for Salerna, the snail.  In Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s eyes, Salerna is a great Jung Suwon-imal, as long as she is in her own environment and doesn’t come into the garden.

But once she trespasses from out there, in the wild, to Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s garden, she becomes a pest that needs to  be taken care of.

Incidentally, Salerna has countless relatives around the world, and here is a picture of a snail Jung Suwon workout in Holland!  See how they are lined up for forms in the back?  🙂

Epilogue for a dear friend, Angel the Owl

April 19, 2012

Today I got “the phone call.”  The very nice officer from the Fremont Animal Services called with the sad news, that our dear friend, Angel the great horned Owl, had to be put to sleep.  Appearantly, he had been injured several days before Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim found him, and he was slowly starving to death.  A raptor cannot eat unless he can fly – and with a wing as badly broken as his he could not catch anything.

I like to believe that Angel looked like this when he was at his best!

After receiving the sad news,  Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim said, ” Life is like that.  There are no guarantees. ”

“Owls live in the here and now, like all Jung Suwon warriors should, ” Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim continues, “The present moment is all there is!  Now is where reality is, and now is where the creative moment is.  ”

In her book, “Seven Steps to Inner Power,” Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim explains this further:

“Why is now the only creative moment?  When it was yesterday, you experienced it as now. When you experience tomorrow, it will be now.  At this moment, and every moment thereafter, it is now.  It is never tomorrow or yesterday. “

So let us enjoy and treasure every moment we have, and celebrate every living breath as if it was our last breath!  (as Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim always encourages us to do.)

And let us celebrate the great life that Angel the Owl had, and may he be hunting and flying free in the great hereafter!

While we are waiting to hear from Angel….

April 18, 2012

While we are patiently waiting for an update on Angel the owl – I got very good news from my sister in law from Florida.  A very new Jung Suwon-imal arrived – literally!

See Celine, the baby crane?  Turns out, Celeste, our local celebrity Jung Suwon-imal does have relatives, although some of them a bit far!

But, remember what Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim teaches about that?  Energy does not have any distance!  In her book, “The First Element,” Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim says,

“Nothing is stationary anywhere in this universe.  When physicists look at the tiniest pieces of matter, pieces tinier than atoms, and then pieces of those pieces, that which they see is in motion.  Everywhere in the universe, energy is moving.  Energy is interacting with energy, energy is changing energy.  And all this energy is woven into one fabric, and you are one with this energy!  It is present within you as your Silent Master.  You are, then, one with the universe!  You are connected to the galaxies, the sun, the fields of grass in Kentucky, and the mountains in the Himalayas in the sense that you share the energy that created those things.

You may ask: If I am one with this universal fabric of energy, why do I not feel the snow on the mountain slopes in Tibet?  Why do I not smell the flowers in Holland?  It is a matter of awareness only.  The time may come when you have expanded your awareness enough to choose to do so.. and you will do so.”

Of course, Jung Suwon-imals don’t read, but as Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim tells us, they are so much more tuned into Ki energy, that the concepts she teaches us are already naturally inside them.

More on Angel, the Owl

April 14, 2012

I wish I could give you updates on our Jung suwon-imal Angel the Owl.  But all we know so far, is that he has a great chance of pulling through and eventually being released.

But, here is something you might want to see – the video of how Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim helped Jung Suwon-imal Angel the Owl:

Once again, please do not try this yourself.  Should you ever find an injured Jung suwon-imal owl, please just only make sure he/she is safe, and call the wildlife services in your area.

Great Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim was able to work with Angel the Owl only through Ki energy.

So let’s send angel all or best wishes for a speedy recovery, so he can come home soon!
