DeeDee the dove expresses gratitude

April 8, 2017

Here is DeeDee, when I saw her last.  She was just a couple of months old, and ready to become independent.  She is a California mourning dove, and the sweetest bird I ever knew.

Dr. Tae Yun Kim‘s home in California was a great place for little birds to grow up in.  Here is a picture of DeeDee when she was just a tiny hatchling:

Dr. Tae Yun Kim loves animals of all kinds, and is especially fond of birds, and makes sure they have a safe haven on her estate.

Momma Dottie is watching out and knows that this huge thing with the camera in hand is just me and is no harm to her or her young ones.  In fact she knows I protect them from the ever-present crows.

Here is DeeDee almost grown up, already Dottie had put her out of the nest but still kept coming back to make sure she’s safe and to feed her.

Dr. Tae Yun Kim has always reminded me how beautiful animals are and how they express their gratitude.

The day DeeDee was ready to leave for good, she hung around the house closer than usual.  She made sure she saw me, and I saw her.  And this was not imagination running wild.  DeeDee really did wait until I saw her.  She looked at me for a long time and let me come real close.  I almost heard her tell me that she was happy for her beautiful childhood her and so grateful we watched over her and kept chasing the crows away.

Dee Dee good bye

Finally, as all birds must do, she knew it was time to start her very own life journey, and she flew away.  She circled a few times very close, and then disappeared into the big oak trees.

Yes, I had a tear or two….as always when a baby leaves.

The other night as I was sitting at my computer, Dr. Tae Yun Kim‘s German Shepherd came up to me and looked me in the eyes, very deeply.  “You know,” he said, with a little hint of sadness in his voice, “I am almost two years old and you still haven’t blogged about me yet.”

Oh Oh!  He cheered up considerably after I invited him to be today’s guest blogger.  Here we go!

Hey folks!  This is me, Chung Song, German Shepherd, proud protector and companion of my Master, Dr. Tae Yun Kim.  In the picture up there, you see me on the first day I came to Dr. Kim.  I was barely 4 months old and after 2 days of almost non stop driving we finally made it home.  At first I was so scared and was hiding under the car, but Dr. Kim was so nice and made it so much fun I forgot about being scared.  I love playing games and still do to this day.  There was another dog there already, and she has turned out to be my best doggie friend.  She is really awesome and her name is Sarang.

Sometimes it gets really hot – and I know when it’s hot you go in the shade.  Simple!  If you can’t find shade, you have to be creative and make your own!  See?  I hear Dr. Kim tell the humans that the power is in them and it is their personal choice what you do in your life!  And us dogs, it applies to us too!

Very special Jungwon-imals

February 13, 2012

Today, we get to meet two very special Jung Suwon – imals. They are great Jung SuWon warriors, and they also happen to be Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim’s guardian angels.  They truly represent what it means to be a warrior.  In the code of ethics that Grandmaster Kim teaches, loyality is the one code that especially applies to our four legged friends.

Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim explains that dogs are loyal to their purpose in life, to their inner beings, so that they can be loyal to their Master.  No matter what – they are always there for you.  If they are tired, hungry, happy, or sad, hurt or playful, they know their mission in their lives.

Dogs enjoy a special connection with “their” humans, Grandmaster Tae Yun Kim explains.  Even if you welcome a person, for example, but the dog senses some unusual or even bad energy around that person, the dog will protect you from this and sometimes a dog will growl at a person for seemingly no reason.  In that case, keep your awareness up!  Dogs don’t usually make mistakes!
